Why an Online Fellowship?

Every year, many UK and international radiologists visit the renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, North London, for training -  UK's largest tertiary orthopaedic and spine hospital. The COVID pandemic has unfortunately deprived many such doctors gaining valuable knowledge from experts at this institution.

Two Stanmore radiologists, lead by Dr Asif Saifuddin, have set-up this innovative online fellowship, which is a structured and mentored way to improve reporting within a focussed area of MR imaging- the spine, while being able to balance normal full-time work.

To our knowledge, we are the world's first online MRI Spine Fellowship. There are several online courses which have the word "Fellowship" attached to them. These are usually unreasonably priced, vary from one day to a few days, only cover a few topics and lack the mentorship, longevity and the support element - the very essence of a fellowship.

2. DICOM Case Reporting

Every week, fellows will be given approximately 10 cases on our Cloud PACS DICOM system which they will review and report in between the live sessions.

3. Live weekly teaching (recording available after)

One weekly 2 hour session with Dr Rajakulasingam for 16 weeks. Session will be live and mainly case based, discussing pertinent findings and principles on how to approach each case. On average, 10 cases will be discussed in each session.
Individual mock reports will be commented on and critiqued during the session with tailored feedback.

4. Research

Fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with Dr Saifuddin on a review article related to spine or musculoskeletal imaging.

5. Mentorship

Fellows will be in direct contact with their tutor throughout the fellowship, this will develop a more individualised learning and development.

Comprehensive 17 week online fellowship covering routine and complex spine MRI. Rare topics including tumours, deformity and complex post surgical appearances
